Borderlands 4 for PlayStation 5 is a first-person action RPG and looter shooter from Gearbox Software. Set on the brand-new planet Kairos with a fresh cast of characters, it's easy to jump in, even if you've never played the earlier games.
Online co-op for up to 4 players and 2-player split-screen
Co-op is built into the game from the ground up. Level scaling and individual difficulty settings for each player keep the squad together, no matter what level each hero is. With a free SHiFT account, you can also enjoy cross-play with friends on other platforms, while online play on the console requires a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Four new Vault Hunters, four distinct playstyles
Choose from Rafa the Exo-Soldier, Vex the Siren, Amon the Forgeknight and Harlowe the Gravitar. Each hero comes with three Action Skills (special abilities with a cooldown) and branching skill trees, so you can craft a build that's all your own. In combat, you can move with a double jump, air dash, glide, bounce and grappling hook.
Explore the planet Kairos freely
The world is seamless, with no separate levels, and you can ride a hover bike across fields, mountain peaks and deserts. Rival factions, dynamic events and missions await along the way. The story centers on the uprising against the dictator Timekeeper, and you can tackle objectives in the order you choose.
