Sonic Frontiers for PlayStation 4 is a 3D platformer from Sonic Team and SEGA that lets Sonic roam freely through an open-zone world for the first time in the series. Stranded on the Starfall Islands and separated from Amy and Tails, the hedgehog must find the Chaos Emeralds and rescue his missing friends.

Explore the open-zone world of the Starfall Islands

Tackle battles, puzzles, side quests and conversations with other characters in any order, whatever suits your play style. The first island, Kronos, features forests, waterfalls, mountains and ancient ruins that are home to the Koco. It is the biggest map the series has seen so far.

Cyber Space: classic-style speed levels

Unlock gateways to Cyber Space with Portal Gears earned by completing puzzles and challenges across the islands. Inside, the levels are linear and fast, in the spirit of traditional Sonic games. Completing challenges earns you Vault Keys, which move the story forward.

Combo-driven combat and the Cyloop skill

Chain dodges, parries and counterattacks into combos, and unlock new skills as you play. Auto Mode unleashes whole strings of strikes with a single button. With the new Cyloop skill, Sonic leaves a trail of light to circle enemies, objects and areas, revealing hidden effects.

Puzzles that reveal the map and power Sonic up

Puzzles in the ancient ruins reward you with items that boost Sonic's power and defense. Solving them uncovers hidden parts of the map and opens up new routes for getting around each island quickly.
