The DALI SUB E-12 F is an active subwoofer built around a 12-inch long-stroke aluminium driver and an integrated Class D amplifier. It reaches down to 28 Hz and its low-pass filter adjusts between 40 and 120 Hz, so it pairs equally well with a stereo pair or a 5.1 / 7.2 home cinema system. Connection is via the mono LFE input or the low-pass filtered stereo RCA line input.
Aluminium cone without dust cap keeps distortion minimal
The cone is pressed from pure aluminium with a Young's modulus of 69 GPa, over fifteen times stiffer than a typical paper cone. Its closed profile replaces the dust cap for piston-like movement, keeping bass tightly defined through fast level changes. The motor uses an oversized ferrite magnet and a 26.5 mm four-layer voice coil.
Class D amplifier: 170 W RMS, 220 W peak
An integrated limiter compares the input signal with the available supply voltage and clamps softly when needed, without robbing peak output during heavy film effects. The switch-mode supply draws just 0.4 W in standby, and 70% amplifier efficiency removes the need for an external heat sink.
Bass reflex MDF cabinet tuned to 36 Hz on an aluminium base
The down-firing port uses a convex tapered flare that suppresses airflow noise. An aluminium base lifts the cabinet 30 mm off the floor, a distance that removes turbulence underneath while preserving the benefit of down-firing loading. The front grille is held by concealed magnets and lifts off by hand.
