The SINGER Heavy Duty 0405S (HD0405S) overlocker sews, trims and finishes seams in one pass using 2, 3 or 4 threads. It handles everything from dressmaking and knits to delicate, slippery fabrics.
Differential feed for flat, even seams
Two feed dogs move at different speeds, adjustable from 1:0.7 to 1:2. Stretchy knits stay flat instead of waving, and fine fabrics don't pucker. The same setting can be used to gather fabric on purpose.
2, 3 and 4 thread stitching
A snap-in converter switches to 2-thread stitching for a neat wrapped edge on lightweight, delicate materials. With 3 or 4 threads you get overlock, flatlock, picot and lettuce edges. Overlock width adjusts from 3.0 to 6.7 mm.
Rolled hem at the flip of a lever
Rolled hems are 1.5 mm wide and are selected with a lever, with no need to change the needle plate. Ideal for chiffon, voiles, scarves and table linen edges.
Free arm for sleeves and cuffs
Slide off part of the stitch bed to reveal a narrow sleeve arm. Sleeves, cuffs, trouser hems and tight necklines can be finished in the round, with no seams to unpick.
Metal chassis and twin LED lights
The internal metal frame of the Heavy Duty series keeps the machine steady at up to 1200 stitches per minute. Twin LED lights over the needle and presser foot give near shadow-free lighting. Colour-coded thread paths make threading straightforward.
