The SONY BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 SA-RS9 is a pair of wireless rear speakers that turn a compatible BRAVIA Theatre soundbar or BRAVIA TV into a full surround setup. Each speaker runs three amplifier channels and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, for 180 W of total system power.
Three drivers per speaker for room-filling sound
Each rear speaker pairs a tweeter and a woofer with a large 80 mm up-firing driver, backed by a passive radiator for fuller bass. The upward sound bounces off the ceiling and places Dolby Atmos height effects above the seating area.
360 Spatial Sound Mapping with BRAVIA Theatre soundbars
The technology generates multiple phantom speakers across the room instead of leaving the sound tied to the physical units. It works together with compatible models: BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, Bar 8, Bar 7, Trio and HT-A7000/A5000/A3000.
Direct wireless link to a compatible BRAVIA TV
Compatible BRAVIA TVs can drive the rear speakers with no soundbar in the chain, adding wireless sound from behind the screen. Pairing runs through the TV menu, so no cabling between the units is needed.
Compact cabinet for a shelf or stand
At 154 x 286 x 154 mm and 2.7 kg per unit, the speakers sit easily on a cabinet, shelf or stand behind the viewing position. An AC cord is supplied, and power draw in operation is around 22 W.
