The JVC KD-X162 is a 1-DIN car receiver without a CD mechanism, featuring a front USB port, an AUX input and an FM/AM tuner with RDS. It plays MP3, WMA, WAV and FLAC files from a USB drive, and the built-in amplifier delivers 4 x 50 W maximum power.
Short chassis for tight dashboards
Dropping the CD mechanism trims the depth to 100 mm and cuts weight. Wiring behind the dash becomes far easier in cars where standard receivers bottom out against the bodywork.
High-contrast VA LCD with red illumination
The Vertical Alignment panel stays legible from a wider angle than the usual TN matrices. Red key illumination keeps every control easy to find after dark.
Front USB and AUX for phone or flash drive
MP3, WMA, WAV and FLAC files play straight off a USB stick, while Android Music Control drives the connected phone's player from the front panel. The AUX input takes any other analogue source.
2.5 V pre-out for an external amplifier
A line-level output on the rear panel feeds an external amplifier or a powered subwoofer. The three-band equaliser and Bass Boost fine-tune the sound to the cabin acoustics.
Steering wheel control and detachable front panel
The receiver accepts signals from the factory steering wheel buttons through the matching interface. The face comes off and travels with you when the car is parked.
