The JBL S2-1224SS car subwoofer pairs a 12-inch driver with a factory-built Series II ported enclosure. It connects to a mono or bridged amplifier and runs at either 2 or 4 ohms. Frequency response starts at 25 Hz and the box arrives fully assembled.
Slipstream port kills airflow noise
At high sound pressure levels, turbulence inside a conventional vent creates chuffing that is easily mistaken for driver break-up. The patented double-flared profile smooths the airflow and leaves only clean bass.
SSI switch: pick 2 or 4 ohms
Load impedance changes with a single flip of the rear switch, with no rewiring. The box adapts to the amplifier you already own, and to the next one you fit.
Long-excursion cone for a full low end
A high-roll surround increases radiating area and keeps the motion linear at large amplitudes. The rigid proprietary cone handles 275 W RMS continuously without losing composure.
Assembled box, straight into the boot
The driver arrives pre-mounted in a factory-tuned box, so only power and signal wiring remain. Leave clearance around the port opening so the vent can breathe as designed.
