The JVC CS-J1720X is a 2-way coaxial car speaker from the J-Series, built for standard 16.5 cm door openings. A mica cone woofer and a polyether imide dome tweeter cover 30 – 22,000 Hz, while the 4 ohm impedance suits both head units and external amplifiers.
Two drivers in one coaxial chassis
The tweeter sits in the centre of the woofer, so highs and lows leave from a single point and the stereo image stays focused. The polyether imide dome runs a neodymium magnet, while the woofer uses a 102 g ferrite magnet.
Mica cone and hybrid surround for controlled bass
The mica composite cone is light and stiff, holding its shape as levels rise. The hybrid surround keeps cone movement in check at the bottom of the range, which reaches down to 30 Hz.
92 dB/W.m sensitivity works with a factory head unit
High sensitivity means solid volume even from the modest output of a standard car radio. With an external amplifier the model handles 30 W RMS and 300 W peak.
