The VIVANCO 46143 converter turns the digital audio output of a TV, player or console into an analogue stereo signal on two RCA (phono) sockets. The input switches between optical Toslink and coaxial S/PDIF, and power arrives over the supplied 1 m USB cable. At 45 x 60 x 18 mm the housing disappears behind your equipment.
Pair an older amplifier with a new TV
Flat-screen TVs no longer carry an analogue audio output. The converter restores that link and feeds stereo sound to a Hi-Fi system, active speakers or a receiver with phono inputs.
Switchable input: optical Toslink or coaxial
A switch on the housing selects which of the two sources is processed, so the unit fits TVs, media players and consoles with different outputs. It accepts 2-channel S/PDIF LPCM at 24 bit with sampling rates from 32 to 192 kHz.
Clean analogue output at 2 V
Output sits at 2 V RMS at 1 kHz and 0 dB into a 10 kOhm impedance, matching the line input of a typical amplifier. Signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 85 dB with noise voltage below 0.005 %.
