The KitchenAid Artisan Plus 5KSM50PKVEBK is a tilt-head planetary stand mixer with a die-cast metal body in Cast Iron Black and a 4.7 L stainless steel bowl. Four stainless steel tools and a pouring shield come in the box, and the front power hub accepts the optional KitchenAid attachments for pasta, grinding and slicing.
Lit bowl for full control of the mix
The light comes on automatically when you lower the head, or you can switch it on by twisting the control knob. You can watch butter cream into sugar and see when the dough has taken up all the flour without stopping the mixer.
Precision Speed Control across 11 speeds
The knob glides between settings instead of jumping between fixed positions. Soft start ramps the speed up gradually so flour stays in the bowl, and the 1/2 fold speed folds delicate ingredients without knocking the air out of them.
Planetary action with at least 59 touchpoints
The shaft turns one way while the attachment spins the other, so ingredients are worked evenly around the whole bowl. Even stiff mixes come out uniform without stopping to scrape with a spatula.
A full set of stainless steel tools
The double flex edge beater has silicone edges that scrape the bowl while it mixes. The wire whisk aerates, the dough hook kneads bread doughs and the flat beater handles heavier batters or shreds cooked chicken. Bowl and tools are dishwasher safe.
Die-cast metal body with power hub
The die-cast metal housing and metal knobs keep the mixer planted even on the stiffest doughs. The hub at the front takes KitchenAid attachments for pasta rolling, meat grinding, slicing and ice cream, sold separately.
