The KitchenAid Artisan Plus 5KSM50PKVEMJ is a tilt-head stand mixer with a 4.7 L stainless steel bowl and a built-in LED light that illuminates the bowl while you work. It ships with a flat beater, wire whisk, dough hook and a double-sided flex edge beater, and its front attachment hub accepts the brand's optional attachments.
Bowl light for accurate measuring
The light comes on when the head is lowered or the mixer runs, and you can also switch it on manually with a twist of the control dial. Streaks of flour on the bowl wall and the exact texture of the batter stay visible throughout mixing.
11 preset speeds plus precision control
The dual control system lets you work with fixed steps or dial in a speed steplessly until the consistency is right. Soft Start ramps the motor up gradually, keeping flour and liquids inside the bowl.
Planetary action with 59 touchpoints
The tool travels across the full inner surface of the bowl, so doughs come out evenly worked without stopping to scrape. The 1/2 speed setting folds whipped egg whites or cream in gently.
Die-cast metal body, stainless steel tools
The metal housing gives the mixer 11.1 kg of heft, so it stays put when working stiff doughs. All tools are stainless steel, and the double-sided flex edge beater scrapes the bowl walls as it turns.
Attachment hub for extra tools
The front hub takes KitchenAid's optional attachments, from a meat grinder to pasta rollers and a vegetable sheet cutter, all sold separately. One appliance then covers kneading, grinding and shaping.
